Planetary Energy
The foundation of Western Astrology is based upon the Greek and Roman myths of the deities.
The planets have been assigned energy characteristics based largely upon their ancient myths. The planets expression of energy is determined by the zodiac sign. For instance, Mars in Leo would express differently than Mars in Virgo. Where the planetary/sign energy manifests is indicated by the planets house position or location in a chart.
Astrology is easiest understood when looked at within the context of one’s own natal or birth chart. To help enhance further knowledge and understanding of yourself, note the planets, the signs and the house placements in your chart. Your natal chart does not change; however, planets constantly move. Current planetary positions are called transits. Planetary transits, observed
within the context of your natal chart, illuminate areas of focus presenting opportunities to gain new perspectives or insights.
Astrology is a language understood through symbols, mythological stories, personality descriptions, and creative imagery. Like any new language it may take some time before it is understood. Planets and their glyphs or symbols are shown below as well as planetary name designations and basic attributes.
